Dalia Monterroso, also known as The President of Chickenlandia, is a Backyard Chicken Educator in Northwest Washington. Dalia is known for her YouTube Channel “Welcome to Chickenlandia” as well as her 2017 TEDx Talk, “I Dream of Chickens”.

Kelcie Paulis, also known as the Chickenlandia Presidential Advisor, has been raising animals for most of her life. At 18 years old, she received a Veterinary Assistant Certification. Kelcie raises rare breed poultry, dwarf goats, alpaca, and more on her family’s homestead. She will be assisting to answer questions within the interactive part of the course.

I’ve had chickens for a while. Will I still learn from this course?
This course is great for beginners, but it’s also beneficial for those wanting to improve their current practices. If you’re looking to learn a more natural and sustainable way to keep chickens or gather good information from one reliable source, this course is for you!

I have specific questions I want answered about my flock. Can I ask those questions within the course?
Yes. You’ll see a “Discussions” tab on the top right of each video lesson. You can ask your questions within those tabs, and an instructor will answer usually between one to two business days, sometimes sooner (holidays excluded).

Do I have to take the course all at once or can I take my time?
Take your time! This course will be available to you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. You will have access to it for the lifetime of the course. Even after completion, many people come back to reference it when needed.

How long will the course take?
How long the course takes will depend on how thoroughly you go through the content, but most people are able to complete this course between three to five hours.

Should I take this course if I live in the city?
Absolutely! Chickenlandia specializes in chicken keeping for small spaces, but you can learn from this course whether you’re in the city, the suburbs, or the country.

I like some natural remedies but I also like conventional techniques. Is this course for me?
This course does lean very natural when it comes to nutrition and health, but there is also a lot of general information about chicken keeping that is useful for everyone. The creators of this course are not against conventional methods when they are needed and can answer any questions you might have in the interactive sections.

Is this course good for kids?
Kids will love learning how to care for their new flock through this course. Depending on their age and ability, they may need supervision from an adult. It’s a great activity for parents and kids to learn about chickens together!
